Have you owned a Knight before?  Do you know what the secondary safety is? Which Knight might it be?

OK I am still confused... Knight DISC Extreme with a Western Kit? or a Big Horn with a Western Kit?

So the secondary safety is turned all the way out... correct?

If it is a DISC have you taken the bolt apart and re-assembled it?

On to the next question... do the caps show any sign of being hit by the plunger or the hammer if it is a DISC?

Barrel says wolverine. Yes secondary safety screwed all the way out. Caps showing no sign of being struck

OK... got a Knight Wolverine - that narrows the problems down quite a bit...

The Wolverine is a plunger gun and the action is pretty simple so it should be an easy problem to fix...  The most common problem, normally, is the thumb screw on the back of the 'pull to cock', or the secondary safety, is not screwed to the rear as far as possible.

So the next check is to see if the plunger is dropping the full length.  I will try to explain this with words because I do not have any pictures available... So with the plunger dropped, or the trigger pulled, the face of the secondary safety should not be contacting the rear of the cocking piece.  There should be a small space between the rear of the cocking piece and the face of the secondary safety screw.

If this does not make sense let me know... I will get a picture.  But, most often the secondary safety is the cause of this problem.  The next problem that i might be is the nipple itself, and in this case it would be to short.  The plunger should actually rest on the nipple, but you really can not see this because of the hood on the face of the plunger.

space between cocking piece and face of the secondary safety screw is significant. (does not change) have it screwed all the way out

Shoot! now you have to wonder about the breech plug and nipple.  It is hard for me to believe that they could have sent the wrong BP???

OK one more thing to try.....  I really wish I could see the rifle but now this statement has me a bit concerned... space between cocking piece and face of the secondary safety screw is significant. (does not change)...  When you pull the trigger the space should reduce down to almost nothing...  I will get a couple of pictures.  Must be me not understanding what you are saying but pictures should tell...

Do these pictures indicate what you are seeing on your end?

Also when you look at the nipple and breech plug in the pictures do it look somewhat like yours?

update......finally had a chance to take it to my local gunsmith and the factory nipple was about a 16th too short so bolt wasn't firing caps.  He did a little machining and now it fires just fine thanks for all the help.
