Title: Wetside elk talking?

Did not hear any talking. It was a bit windy though, which could have dampened any bugling. :o

I watched a bull raking a tree but it wasn't from the rut, they are just now shedding the velvet. I didn't hear any bulls talking but it wouldn't surprise me if they are starting to get some practice in and locate their soon to be competitors.

Post by: BowBender87 on August 29, 2012, 05:46:42 PM: heard one bugle twice last night! Then went to another spot right before dark and seen 2 4 points with 7 cows. the bigger one chased the smaller one off and was runnin the cows around like crazy. He didnt bugle but chuckled a ton!

Post by: highside74 on August 30, 2012, 09:41:48 PM: Watched 8-10 cows with their calves last night coming out of the woods being very vocal the whole way. 6x6 was bugling in the timber not far behind them. He didn't come out until all the cows were in the field. Then he fed in behind them. Bugled a couple more times then I ran out of light and headed home.
