Want to get the most out of my GPSmap76C, does not have a topo downloaded yet. I looked on Garmin website, but the NW topo is 150 bucks, any advice on other topos to download to it that will show GMUs, public, private land, BLM, state land on it???
Also, best place to get a laminated backup??

Garmin only deals with their own mapping software mapsource. Not to say you cant use USGS topo, put wavepoints on,routes and then transfer it to your gps but as far as maps displayed on the screen its Mapsource or nothing.

Gonna have to check that out when I get home. I assume you can still mark waypoints on those maps? Can you play with the map on your computer for trip planning or is it strictly for use on the GPS?

If you have a Garmin, you can still use Base Camp to plot anything you want and then transfer way points to your GPS (or vice versa).
