Title: Nice bucks out there
Post by: Labs07 on August 29, 2012, 07:38:37 AM
My buddy and I run Deer herd composition surveys for the WDFG.  We have been running the same 3 areas for about 4 years now and this year there just seems to be bigger bucks this year in GMU 117.  Additionally, a lot of the does we have been seeing are carring two fawns.

This year I have noticed a lot of doubles running. Should be a great harvest year, I can't wait to see what the results are at the end of the season. Just been keeping a tally of the wet years and dry years, snow vs. no snow in areas, all I do is keep a journal for my self and I can look back on what was what! We'll see how it turns out. Might just end up with a lot of predation issues this year as well. Good Luck to all!
