Im in the market for a good headlamp im thinkn 200 lumens either the 2012 black diamond icon or the princeton tec apex any one have either one good or bad
-
I recomend this set up. http://www.firearmsprostore.com/nutnfancysultimateheadlampkit.aspx (http://www.firearmsprostore.com/nutnfancysultimateheadlampkit.aspx) never using anything else. its a 4Sevens Quark MiNI 123 LED Flashlight on a Fenix Headband Kit (holds MiNi and 2 extra batteries) with 10- 1500mAh CR123A Lithium Batteries. max lumens 210, min lumens 5, longest runtime 235hr, shortest run time 1hr 20min.

Check out the coast head lamp it is sweet i have used from everything to frog gigging to hiking and as long as you keep it off the max lumens battery life is great

Forget the Icon and get the Storm from BD. You get rid of the bulk and still have plenty of light, my buddy and I both use it for climbing, he actually switched from the icon.

My main use is for duck huntin, runnin my boat in the dark, and settn deeks so distance is a big concern
-
I went with the black diamond icon. Mainly for the 200 lumens. I got tired of hiking out of deep timber and not being able to see more than 15 feet with the old headlamp only to find a good game trail just off to my side that I could have taken.

Bought my father in law the Icon for his birthday this year and it was Awsome. As a matter of fact, I think I need to now upgrade??
-
i have a petzl that has been through 4 combat deployments and still runs like a champ. not a single issue. I just recently got a shurefire headlamp that is bas a$$. super bright and completely adjustable and water proof.
-
I just bought the icon im stoked for it to get dark and check it out
-
Fenix  best headlamps I have found. Flashlights too. Very bright and long battery life.
-
 I have used the same ICON for at least 4 years now probably 5. I have not found a weakness. I run mine at full tilt most of the time. Have used it a lot in heavy rain with no issues. AA batteries are a big + for me. Almost all of my gear runs on AA's. :twocents:

Good strategy, I do the same.

I've got the BD Storm but was thinking of trying one of these guys out.
