Title: Blacktail buck w/Primos 35
Post by: bobcat on August 30, 2012, 11:32:04 PM
I've had my Primos 35 in this location all summer, had only checked it once, and that was 7 weeks ago. Got a few pictures of a couple decent bucks last time. It's a 2 1/2 mile walk in so I let it go a lot longer than I really wanted to, but just never could find the time to do it, until tonight.

After the long walk in I was disappointed to see the power cord going from the external battery to the camera was pulled out. Then I stuck the memory card in my laptop and noticed that it had over 1700 pictures. Was even more disappointed when I found out 99% of the pictures were due to a branch from the alder tree that the camera was attached to, blowing in the wind.

Turns out the camera took pictures for 3 weeks, until the battery died. The power cord apparently came out at a later time, so that wasn't even an issue. I did get 20 pictures of a buck, or maybe two bucks(?). You'll notice the branch with the alder leaves in the upper portion of some of the pictures. I'll have to be more careful about that kind of thing from now on.

Oh, you'll also notice that the date and time are not correct. Not sure how that happened. For the correct time, add about 5 1/2 hours to what shows on the pictures.

Nice!! I have 5 cams still out that I need to go get. Been no time lately and I want to get them out before archery opens but might pull them out on opening day. One I have has been soaking 4 weeks and I might just let it soak until mid Nov

I had that happen. Except with mine it was grass blowing in the wind. Camera took 1800 pictures of it and died. :bash: Nice bucks though!
