Title: Tooth and bear reporting ?
Post by: h20hunter on August 31, 2012, 07:25:58 AM
So, I'm filling out my tooth envelope and it is asking me to score the body condition and age class of my bear. It referes to "see guide" but I am baffled as to where this guide is. I've found the tooth look up link on the state site but don't know about the guide.

Anyone have a link?

Just put "it's a C-Post bear".   They'll know it is one of the healthiest bears in the state.

I thought that was the purpose of sending in the tooth....So THEY could age the bear?    WTF?  Maybe they're short on funds.  :chuckle:

Nice....wonder what would happen if I simply put C-Post on the line for location. It does say to be specific.

Just say if it was and adult, yearling or ????.  The tooth will tell the real age.  As for condition just give your opinion.  use poor, fair, or good or excellent.

No room to write event the word good....it is a tiny little spot like they are expecting a number. The age class I simply circled "adult".

I'd put "dead" for condition.  :chuckle:

Hopefully the person on the receiving end will get a chuckle out of it.

I don't think you are supposed to get any feedback. As far as I understand you wait 9 or 10 months then log in and basically is just says how old the bear was. I don't expect them to contact me with the info.
