Post by: demontang on August 21, 2008, 07:57:36 PM
After taking my father out a few times with my friends 416lr fox pro my dad just bought a fx3 and it should be here next Friday. We have just started to hunt together after 10years of not, we have taken around 40 coyotes this year. I have shoot most by my self but together in a month we have managed 10 :yike:

Yes, you will love it.

I was looking at the Foxpro but found a killer deal on a new Minaska M1 Bandit at Cabela's in the bargain cave. Man that thing rocks. I don't think you can do bad with FoxPro or Minaska either one, they both stand behind their products 100%. I had 5 dogs come in the first day I used it and the next morning I had 7 respond, I was so excited I missed on two coyotes :yike:

Now I think I'll do better knowing what to expect from the unit.

I have enjoyed success with my fox-pro. but honestly dont use it as much as mouth calls. Ive found that with mouth calls I have a higher stand to coyote ratio. just my experience. JB

Well, there is certainly nothing wrong with using both mouth calls and the e-caller while on a stand. I do it and have had great success. If I get a dog coming in with the mouth call I turn on the e-caller to distract it away from me and bring it in to an open area where I have the e-caller setup. Then  BOOM...Thwack, I start looking for dog #2 :chuckle:

As said earlier you can't go wrong. Enjoy yourself  ;)

If I might add bring extra sets of batteries for the caller and remote. You don't want to be out in the feild and run out of power. Been there done that and never again. ;)

I have had dead batteries too, but I had a mouth call and got a coyote after the first blow :chuckle:
