Title: St. Helens Tree Farm CLOSED 9/12
Post by: fireweed on September 11, 2012, 07:07:56 PM
Hunters are leaving our family's campground  :'( because Weyco. just shut down all public access to the St. Helens Tree Farm, including public access corridors--not sure from recording if it is closed to state land (Toutle Unit), says closed past 4100-4200 junction. 1-866-636-6531
Also Longview Timber(formerly Longview Fibre) closed Sunday.

Normally I'd be pissed because I spend most of my early elk season on the tree farm in the Coweeman but I just scored access to private property in the Battleground unit where I've been seeing elk for the last couple weeks and a co-worker just took a 4x4 from, know where I'll be Sat & Sun.

I just listened to it- sounds to me like they are still allowing access to the block of state land in the Toutle unit, via the 4200 road. Like you said, it says the 4100 public access corridor is closed past the junction with the 4200 road.

So if that's true, that's good news for those with archery and muzzleloader Toutle permits.
