Walked into a old clearcut unit this morning that is surrounded by about 20 year old reprod. I was working my way along the edge when I heard the classic busted grunt. 5 does stood up and started making their way slowly away from me into the clearcut. The wind was in my face so I decided to Chase them. I ended up taking a 50 yard shot on the biggest doe when she skylined herself on a small ridge. She jumped the string and I was 6 inches high. So much for fried backstraps tonite. Oh well, it was a nice change of pace from chasing Elk in the thick timber all week. Back to the Elk grind tomorrow. Been unable to seal the deal yet. 3 more days to get one on the ground. :o

Good luck man, keep after it

That would be an interesting situation. Id be too nervous someone is watching with a scope for me to pick some "berries". Or even just finding the crop.

I did stumble into a grow in Hawaii when hunting pigs. Felt like I was being watched the entire walk back to the truck. Needless to say I never hunted that valley again.
