"Tell President Obama to Stop the Backdoor Wildlands Policy
In 2010 President Obama's Interior Secretary unveiled a new type of land designation known as "Wild Lands" This new designation allowed the Department of Interior to identify and manage lands as de-facto wilderness areas without having to go through the required congressional process. This provision was widely opposed by hunting and conservation organizations because it would "adversely impact the State's ability to proactively manage fish and wildlife, and the public's ability to access those areas for wildlife-related recreation. Under strong pressure from pro-hunting Congressman, on April 15, 2011, President Obama was forced to temporarily stop the "Wild Lands" policy.
Despite the strong opposition, the Department of Interior is again looking for ways to apply strict land management practices to federal lands without Congressional approval. This time the Department of Interior is using their new guidance manuals to outline its employees should apply new land management practices that essentially create de-facto wilderness areas. It is vital that hunters tell the President to stop unilaterally imposing management policies that hurt hunters and wildlife and instead work with Congress and state wildlife agencies on pro-wildlife management plans. Please take the time to send a message to the administration below and let them know your views."

Thank you. I do hope many others will take actions on these very real threats to our freedoms and spread the word as well.
