My 9 year old has decided that he wants to go for deer this year. He passed his hunters ed last year but decided he didnt want to hunt deer last year. I am not looking for any specifics just some general information on a couple units for the youth hunts in October.
If anyone could give a general area to look in gmus 124, 127, 130, and 139 I would appreciate it.
He is not looking for a big buck, just a legal deer, buck or doe doesnt matter to him.
Flame all you want.....this is ENTIRELY for my son....I archery hunt MUCH closer to home.

Might be tough this close to modern but i would think somebody can put in a good word to find him a doe on private land. Folks need em thinned in places. When it comes to youth people are more willing to say yes.

If your in Spokane go to the WDFW office in the valley. They usually have lists of land owners requesting help thining the herds. Some even have a transport tag where if the boy doesn't connect during youth season he can still shoot a doe through like march of next year. You must have that transport tag from the land owner though. Check it out. They have always been very helpful to me.

That is great to know! I will make sure we leave early enough to stop by the Wdfw office.

Call some advertised outfitters with private land around spokane, they are dying to have does removed over there this year. Most of them will probably let him shoot one free of charge!
