Anyone know this unit well? Willing to pass on a little wisdom? I have lots of family in the lewiston/clarkston valley and i should be able to get help that way. Just figured i would toss it out here and see what may come of it. The hunting area is fairly small. From what ive seen it seems to have quite a bit of flat barren land to it. I plan on getting a few days scout time in after october. At the very least ill get a lay of the land.
this tag is late late in the season 2nd deer archery tag.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure exactly waht you mean by clarckston area. Is it a Gmu or? I know some gmu's around that area, but more to the blues side around Pomeroy. I do kind of know if you go up to asotin then up the dirt roads there u hsoudl get into some good grain fed deer and maybe some woods as well. Hope this helps.

Clarkson is an actual unit specifically for this late hunt draw. its basically the land leading right into the city of Clarkson. And the bluffs above. I still need to take at the area to really figure it out.

Not sure where exactly the boundary of that unit is? But if it goes far enough west you can get into the base of the blues and maybe have some luck. Pretty much all private around the valley with alot of people that like to hunt though.

You must be referring to Deer Area 1021 Clarkston. It doesn't give you much room past the city limits, but there is one register/sign in to hunt farm off the Peola Rd (128) just before you get to McGuire Gulch. It's really heavily hunted though for both deer and upland with it's proximity to town. And yes, it's barren and open land. Going to be a really tough hunt unless you get lots of early snow to drive the deer down towards town. I would hold out and hunt it between Christmas and New Years if you can.

Good info, thanks! Sounds like its going to be a challenging hunt. works for me, that's the kind I like.

There was a pic in the Lewiston Tribune in the last week or so of 2 nice bucks off Clemens Rd.
