Pulled a great stalk on this buck in the open Palouse Wheatland. Took me 2 plus hours to get within 50yards of him (with 3 other bucks). My shot was a little back and he headed for a draw with thick brush. Honestly I think he flinched and began to run before my arrow arrived! I was able to get a good vantage point where I could see if he left that cover. After waiting over an hour I began looking for him. This stuff was over 6 feet tall. Well not much of a blood trail to follow so I just systematically covered it and finally found him an hour later! I am happy I was able to find him; I was beginning to have doubts!!!

You might want to hunt up the guy on the Quadtrac in the background and thank him for feeding the very nice buck for all those years. Lots of garbs and winter wheat laying there.

Congratulations, looks like a nice high buck there!

 Great looking buck and looks like it was a pretty good shot too. That will be some good eating!

Well done, stalking and killing a whitetail with nothing other than a stick and string is no easy task to accomplish.

A dandy for sure.

And, he can thank you for stopping that buck's depredations. Farmers who allow hunting, and ethical hunters who respect the landowner and his rules, a total win-win. Farmers who bitch about depredation, who don't allow hunting; and unethical hunters who trespass or ignore the landowners rules, do nobody any good.
Congrats on a beautiful buck, taken by the most challenging of methods.
