just got pictures via text, don't have permission to post, but maybe he will come on here and do so. Native tag, rifle, 9x13 rack.... huge bull.
-
9x13 is what I am told, in the pic it looks huge but maybe an 8x? palmated right tops... pretty cool
-
:bash: :bash: :bash: did miles get a separate account or something?!?!?!? Not true until there's some pics, all speculation and lies. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Why do you people keep doing this to me.. Don't you know I have a delicate heart condition..?
-
Tulalip is doing there tribal drawing Tuesday for the 3 or 4 Nooksack Bull elk tags they are allowed. If the Tribal Members who hunted turn in their hunter report or unused tags by February they are in the drawing. My wife just happens to be Tulalip and turned her tags in the right time frame. Super stoked and hoping that she can draw one of the tags. Can't wait to see the pics of that big boy you speak of.

I have bugled this guy in before, 2 years ago or his brother. He was taken within a half mile as the crow flies of the same place.

Elk hunting with a modern firearm this time of year must be nice.

Yep one of the 3 tags that the tribe gives out in conjunction with the WDFW. WOW.

You have more will power than I would !

There are several Rifle rut tags available by draw, for "Joe Hunter" Margaret has some, the Lewis, Goat Rocks, and a few others ....
-
Charlie, I let that bull go the year before last :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: So where was it shot, I actually did let a 8x8 with huge palmation on the right side go because of a not so perfect shot but I think the one I let go was way heavier :o
-
That bull was killed on the back side of Josephine Mt...
-
Due north over the main ridge from were you were camped... Did you pass that palmed bull up south of your camp?
-
Hope fully we can get some better pictures of him. Great looking bull.

Theres alot more units than that on the east side as well....

I wonder if they packed out the meat or just left it lay like they did in 1991.
-
All the meat was packed out ...

Nice bull and maybe if you left out that the hunter was a tribal member with a tag legally hunting this wouldn't have gotten some trash comments. Oh well, always somebody here to rain on somebodies parade, just can't enjoy something nice that's been shared.
Buck, you've got incredible will power if you passed on a bull of that caliber because I don't think I couldve.
-
there are alot of rifle rut tags for joe shmoe, so put in for one, sounds like that tribe is doing it right, what do they give out? 3 or 4 tags, sounds like a sweet deal, congrats to the hunter, damn nice bull, cool lookn antlers

His fronts are small

Supposedly the Tribes & Non-Tribes get the same allotment of Nooksack tags. The Non-Tribes get 12 Quality tags & 12 Spike tags & are weapon specific where the Tribes also get the same number of Tags for a total of 48 Tags. The Tribes get to use any weapon they want to use at any time which is what Wea300Mag is referring to when he says it must be nice to be able to use a Rifle.

i see, ok i understand, well that kinda sucks for the whiteys, to bad we all cant be equal in the eyes of the state and wdfw

I do not want to say much about the Tribes but one thing I know for sure is this ...if it was not for the tribes , no one would be killin any of these bulls ....the tribes are the ones who run the show So thank the Indian :dunno: ;) and I had my hands around those horns yesterday and that was a damn nice bull ... The pattle makes it unique

Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it...........

Exactly. LOL

Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it...........
alright, I'll say somthing. I dont know, so dont jump my $hit but wernt the tribes the ones that almost killed off the herd years ago? :dunno:
-
Nice bull. Congrats to the hunter.
Now for the 'wait for it'....
I am sick and tired of that tribe and Siera Pacific pulling the strings for that hunt unit! I hunted that unit in the mid/late 80's when it was open to everyone as Crown land. Everyone knows how much poaching took place then (FROM BOTH SIDES!) because of lack of involvement of WDFW law enforcement and the tribe..
But it is not right the way things are now. It is flip-side over-managed now.

And there it is! I was going to say something when I first read the comment earlier but thought, why should I take the joy from somebody that is just dying to say it!LOL. I thought it wouldve been earlier and not so long of a wait but, I knew it would come.LOL. Sled, don't worry I was trying ok, am trying to keep some humor going so this thread doesn't get detered and sideways like some others.

Where are the picts already?? That palm rocks!

Yeah you guys are correct and I and everyone who ever hunted this unit knows what took place ...But on another note they have changed their ways of thinking So we have to forgive them and move one ..They have done alot for the herd up here and I am just as peeesed as everyone else when it comes to accessing land we all used to run the hell out of back in the days when we were running a free country ,,, this country is far from being free now days :bash: :bash: :bash: :(

I agree with John and STeve, The herd was decimated in the late 80's and early 90's, by both sides and just piss poor management. The whole month of January was a muzxzie hunt, and I know for a fact a lot of cows that had been bred never made it past January. I loved it when it wasa Crown and the main line and most other roads were open, they have taken away a lot of prime bear and deer country by locking it down. Of course, the slobs and vandals did a lot to force them to do so, the dumping and damage done to the equipment. Then we had everybody with their own sets of keys to the closed roads, running their butts all over the place up there where it was closed. The Tribes have done their part and then some to get the herd back in the right direction, it is almost at goal again. AS far as the over management of the herd, well that is the WDFW, I have asked them when the new Nooksack herd management plan would come out, since the other one is so old.... yep they will get right on that....
The gentleman that took this bull is a great guy, with a legal tag, using legal equipment. The only posts on this thread should be congratulating the gentleman for taking such a nice bull.

Very nice bull and congrats to the hunter. I sure hope to see some more photos of him. Neat set of bones.

Congrats to the hunter, beautiful bull

Congrats to the hunter!

This is a well deserved tag and animal for the hunter. Again this site took off in the wrong direction when a great animal was taken. This bull is a beauty, the picture posted doesnt quite do it justice. I doubt any more pics will be posted after some of the off target replies, i know i dont care to post any of the ones i have.
-
Sweet ass bull!!!!! Congrats man.... Wish we could get some more pics.... Everything sounds legit so what's the big deal???? If "John Doe Whitey" drew this tag then shot this bull would you all question him and be so negative??? :dunno:

Awesome unique bull!
