I'm thinking about getting this jacket for layering during late season. I have a question to those that own the Spindrift jacket. Does the insulation fibers work their way out through the stitching? Thanks for your input.

They haven't on mine.
-
mine neither, i love it.

This ain't your grandpa's cheapo K-Mart special down jacket :chuckle:
I am mainly a Sitka Gear guy, but I have to say the stitch work on the Kuiu I've played with has been flawless. With the new green Vias who knows :dunno: Now they just need to make a fit for fat, broken, *censored*s like me.

Thanks all.
I didn't mean to compare it to the cheap down jacket. I had one primaloft jacket in the $100 range and the fibers are coming out either from the stitches or the outer material. That's the reason I asked.

I would have sent that jacket back. No reason a Primaloft jacket no matter what cost should have that issue.
I seriously doubt you would ever have that kind of issue with either Sitka's Kelvin or Kuiu's Spindrift products. Even with all my BAD luck it hasn't happened. And, that's a lot of bad luck :chuckle:

I've worn for approximately 10 days (at least for several hours in the morning) in the last month and a half and have had no issues. And this was after being mashed into a pack with 40 pounds of gear sitting on it on almost all of those 10 days. It's a good insulating layer jacket (not as warm as a quality down jacket - just a FYI.)

Cool. Just need it as an insulation layer. I'll have thermo/wool under it then other jacket over it.

mine has been problem free, love this layer, once it gets dark or early AM its my go-to in the high country!
