Title: My first b/t
Post by: rebal69972 on September 23, 2012, 11:53:39 PM
So I got my first black tail. Stupid me didn't charge the cam so I didn't get 1 pic but that's ok it was an older doe. It is kinda cool though most of her face and neck was gray. She's around 130lbs. Not a lot of a story, I had set in my ground blind all day, didnt see anything and was heading back to the truck. I was 100 yards from the truck when she stepped out into a field 17 yards away, turned broadside and it was all over.I took out the heart and lungs.montec g5's. It was last light so I found blood but I let her be and didn't get her till morning. She ran less then 120 yards. Yes she ran right past the truck and  died 20 yards away. I didn't know she ran that close till the morning when I found the blood trail across the road. but now she in the freezer and it's time to start thinking about getting my 11 y/o daughter on an elk. Good job.  Same thing happened with my doe 2 weeks ago.  Hunted all morning and got back to within 10 yards of the truck on my way home and she was 5 yards off of the road standing right there.
