Beautiful fish.

Trip for sturgeon on the Fraser is a solid addition to the bucket list. One could probably do a double trip....sockeye/sturgeon in the same day. Awesome fish and you are right...the girth is massive.

WOW...THATS CRAZY !!! :fishin: :brew: :kneel:

There have been multiple fish caught in the mid-Columbia that are this size and larger. Recently, a local guide caught one 144" in length and 109" in girth. Unreal. I get the video from him and see if he wants to share it here. His biggest is 14' in length.

:yike: Caught by an accountant!

Have had several in the 108" - 120" range via tape measure and one at 10.5ft... estimated at about 400-500, the one they got at an estimate of 1000lbs holy freaking cow.... Even on the ones we were able to get close to the shore and jump in with they were full of piss and vinegar. That one is so mellow and poses nicely for the picture.... Must have fought it for a long time...

We estimated a sturgeon with a 144" length and 109" girth comes out just under 800 lbs. I could see this one coming in around 600 lbs with a 60" girth. :twocents:

hooked one on the columbia maybe 14 feet four years or so ago, as soon as i saw its head, i offered the rod to another, and soon after it got off. we were both pretty happy about it.
