i have done that just dont know the area up high verry well and dont want to walk over a ridge and find a town but thank you got any hints of where to start

I don't think you will have any problem avoiding towns, houses or people. Look at your maps and google earth find some areas at the end of a road system or gated roads in the national forest and find some drainage's/funnel points and wait.I have hunted that general area for most my life and if your not where people can drive you will see plenty animals.

PEOPLE all over Hardscrabble/StormKing.. Go on the Kettle Crest Trail if you want to avoid everything except a few horses and maybe very few people. It's off of Sherman Pass or Boulder Pass, about 30 miles of trail.

Timber country up there, a few open areas here and there that are open on the trail from what I understand.

There is alot of wolves up there, not doing deer pop. any good. Road hunters as well. Toroda creek has more open area. Listen to campmeat he knows area I think? :dunno:

Muleys high or low. Whitetails low to medium. No rain yet. It's been nearly 80 for the most part. It's been as low as 26 a couple weeks ago. Right now in the morning it's been around 40ish +-5 degrees. I have not seen to many deer during the day at all even at 4000 feet.

We're getting more wolves around here, but the chances of seeing one is very slim to none. Tell me where you see wolves at in Idaho, I have an Idaho wolf tag.

Just South of Republic, up Scatter Creek rd. There's 3 lakes, some camping sites and a lot of trails and good hiking/hunting areas. I stopped hunting there a couple years ago because on opening day I found more fresh gut piles than I saw deer.
