Title: Lightweight Rifle bipod
Post by: FLIZZ on September 26, 2012, 07:11:15 PM
Why the F doesn't Harris or somebody make a synthetic bipod or something light like that? I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere about pods but I need a good light one for my Savage LW hunter that doesn't have 3 foot legs. suggestions.

Browning makes a super light one but it is more of a prone or off a bench bipod. I guess you could sit with it as well depending on how big of a fella you are. Our's is on the wifes rifle and it is super super light. I use to always have a bi pod. Then I got playing with shooting sticks and don't think I will ever go back to one. Don't like the weight and off set balance on my guns.

I used to hate having a heavy bipod on my weatherby too but I've finally just learned to deal with it. I can get pretty good and steady just using my pack but it's not the same. The way I hunt a lot of my shots are a little longer and I need a solid rest.

stony point makes a detachable version that i love..not sure on exact weight but proly 6 ounces..its the folding rapid pivot i think..with a backrest, while siting i can hit beer cans at 600..while prone ive done 1000 yards shots pretty easily
