Hello, New to the Forum. Planning on putting in for the Spring bear Kopowsin unit. I was reading when you draw for the tag you can hunt in the Kopowsin unit plus the 653 white river unit? Is this true? Thats got public land up there high. ( I know Hancocks has some property within) So is it possible to hunt up the 7010 and 7012 road in greenwater up close to the 485 boundry? Do you have to buy the Hancock permit and key even though the gate is open to the public? Any one drew for one last year and hunted up there? Is it worth it to go for them up there? Im a Bear Virgin any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum
If I knew anything about the area I'd be glad to help you out but I don't know that area at all. Good luck in your research. Introduce yourself as well, that might help get more people interested in helping you out.

First off welcome to the site!
Next I DON'T KNOW JACK ABOUT THAT UNIT!!! :chuckle: I am sure one of the guys on here that has hunted it will know the answers for 100% fact. I know they do change the lines from year to year depending on the management plans. So sometimes they will change but I am sure one of the guys can point you in the right direction.

Thank you guys, Probably should Introduce My self. My name is Brandon Keller I'm a young 20yr old avid hunter who has been hunting big game and waterfowl for 12 yrs now. Im a big time black powder hunting enthusiast. I have been serious about tagging a black bear here on the West side for the last 3 yrs. I know of some good areas and have been told by sucesfull hunters hunting up along Sawmill ridge 7030 and 7010, 7012 up in greenwater. See the occasional signs here and there but can never get em like I hear of other people. Want to try the spring bear out for a better chance and heard of being able to draw the Kopowsin Tag (Have 3 points available) and being able to try for them in the GMU653. Witch covers some of the area I hunt in fall. Im not a newbie to big game hunting or the tactics to killing these monsters, just need a better oppurtnity! Thanks for the help.

:hello: Welcome to the site. I don't know anything about your unit either, sorry. But I can tell you if you post that you missed twice because you took shots long range and on running animals the guys on here will have you for breakfast. Just sayin
