Yes, as long as we get the permit. We will be doing Coyote Madness 5. If we get it in time , we will stat from Nov1-end of Feb.
With that being said, I also went out today to sight in my rifel and seen a couple yotes. MAN it got me excited. Cant wait to start calling.

If the permit applications went in last march, we should only get them one month late this year :IBCOOL:
-
Is there going to be any requirement on an individuals part to join other than a hunting license and listing yourself on a team?
-
Here are the rules posted from last years contest, my guess will be they will be similar for this year.
Rules:
1. 30 teams max, 10 Members max per team
2. Team Size will be limited to 5 members until 30 teams have 5 members, then 1 or 2 members may be added to all teams until all teams have 7 members, then additional members may be added until all teams have 10 members.
3. Entries can begin Dec 10 to Midnight Feb 28, 2012. Coyotes taken from Nov 1 to Feb 28 will be accepted.

7. Eligible Hunting Area includes any area statewide that's open for coyote hunting.
8. Licensed Guests/Youth may accompany team members and hunt as follows. A guest hunter is acceptable for a one time hunt. If a guest kills an animal while hunting with a team member then it can count toward your team total as long as someone from the team was there. A guest hunter can't go out by themself and shoot coyotes for any team. A guest hunter's coyotes can only count toward your team total for one hunt. If your guest hunts with you more than once, they must become a team member for their coyotes to be entered. Youth (under 18) can accompany team members and contribute to the teams total as often as desired as long as they are with a team member.

I love you guys! :chuckle:
-
starts november 1st? im all for shooting coyotes but i think i have something more important to be doing november 10-20... oh what was that again...?
-
I gotta quit killing them all so there is a few left for the contest. :chuckle: Taking my grampa out Sunday for a little calling.
-
I couldn't resist, this stand took an hour and 10 minutes. We were able to watch them the whole time with binocs, otherwise I would not have stayed that long. They were not interested in prey distress, at least they were not coming in on prey distress, even after I gave them nearly everything I had. Switched to vocals and here they came.
-
Be careful, Gringo is watching, counting, and grinning. He loves early dogs that are killed, less competition come November. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Looking forward to it this year.
-
So unit 578 is considered a west side unit, would yotes here count as west side or east side? Just wondering. Got to get on a team this year!
-
Can't wait!
-
How do I go about entering this thing? Is there a particular area to be hunted? How long is the tourny?
-
Typically its from Nov-Feb
Teams are assigned or made up by people....either way. It is open for anyone who hunts by legal means across the state. There have been some half point dogs for out of state but the short story is that it's wide open.

Once the permit has arrived, Raul Duke should post up a new Coyote Madness thread, just throw your name in the hat and someone will pick you for their team or you can start a new one, either way.
You can hunt state wide, no out of state dogs will be allowed and nothing more than coyotes can be counted per WDFW rules/guidelines. The contest goes from Nov. 1 - 2012 thru the end of Feb 2013. You are not required to hunt with any other member of your team but some do, some members don't live anywhere near the other so it's up to you to find areas to call and kill the dogs.
Most of us make up a team sign and have it laminated to prevent damage, keep it in your hunting gear so you can photograph the kill for a point towards your final tally. The rules are posted from last years contest on page one of this thread so read through them to get an idea of what is expected.
Oh.....And Welcome aboard!!

Didn't fox and bobcats count for anything last year? What about raccoons? I think wetside tires should count for 2, not 3 :yike:
After modern elk season ill be hunting coyotes hard and maybe kill a couple fox. I need a team! I'm in the tri city area and hunt all over the south east side.

Nope....coyotes only per the rules, I wish it did include raccoons, and such.

Is it possible to add those this year?! Predator madness!

Honestly...I doubt it. It sounds as though the permit application is done and we are just waiting for it to be approved. WDFW sets the rules not HuntWa. :dunno:
