Please Read Carefully as there are some changes in the Rules and the Subject Matter for the contest!
The Subject for Photo of the Month Contest for October is Images of the Hunt. This does not mean Kill Shots or shots with you and the animal! It means sights that you saw either getting to your hunting area , what you saw once you got there or while you were returning home. This should produce some awesome results and I can't wait to see the results!

5. Photo Must be taken within the Current Month.
I think this will substantially reduce the entries.... :dunno:
-
I have a photo taken 2 weeks ago I was going to enter for one of my guides, or are you thinking October only?
-
I think it should be THIS FALL or current license year. I hunted in September archery. Does that mean don't enter?
-
Thanks for Posting your concerns and suggestions! :) I have now changed the rules to The Current Hunting Season!

Here's a Northeast Washington Goat that Nick spotted. He's in camp hunting in Utah, so I'll enter it for him. (photo taken through spotting scope)

I shot my limit of grouse and then grabbed a camera. This was the best one of the bunch.

I took this out in the woods yesterday while I was hunting.

I don't know if this will count because I no longer hunt with a gun or a bow. I only hunt with my camera. Ever since I had a Heart Attack 3 years ago I have not had the urge to kill another animal and I am afraid to over exert myself dragging it out of the woods alone. :( The Doctors have told me that would be a bad idea, so the camera is my way to get into the woods to observe nature. :)
I'm leaving it up to the Group to decide if I qualify!

Grandpa, if you want to wack a deer with your camera, more power to ya. Impressive to say you got it with a 35mm :chuckle:

High Buck is in September.

I'm going to go with the "when I got there..." portion of this months subject. I liked how the kids posed side by side for one quick shot.

Adding a new element to our hunts this year. Lugging around the camera and the bow and gear is tougher than people think!

Taken yesterday afternoon in a last ditch effort for a muley to show itself.

It was a hard choice, but I think this one.

Trip Home

Well....it wasn't exactly what I saw returning home but found a few days later. There is a much longer version of this story but the short story is that I got in a bit of a fight with a 3 point. :chuckle:
BTW, in the end, I won :chuckle: What you are looking at is the buck track bruise in my leg....

Took this when I was hunting. Early morning, dew/haze lingering. (https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F12%2F10%2F31%2Fumuru6yv.jpg&hash=21166cf475acddde0a3cf50788ae42e131baeb05)

First frost of the year....
Is that a glacier bear? That sure get's me excited! Didn't know non-native hunters could hunt Glacier bears. That's about the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Does he have four toes on both front feet? I'd take one of those over a 400+ elk any day of the week. Awesome
