For all you Bugle readers Ron Mills showed us the spot where he lost the horses in to the creek revene. Nasty
edge. New trail much safer.
I'm not much of a story teller. Week was very hot. Steep country wore me out in the heat.
Scenery can't be beat. On the fifth day after riding up in the dark we came to the edge of an avalanch chute. Heard a fairly close bugle above us. Decided to cross the chute to the timber edge on the far side. Left the horses and beat feet up hill a couple a hundred yards. Just as I got set up I could see him starting accross the chute. After a single cow. Seeing his size and shaking badly I missed the first shot. He did not run off. Kept walking then stopped. Settled down and got him wth the second shot. Kept vigil for Grizz while gutting out. Lotta work on a steep slope. Thank God for pack string.
Hunted with Mills Wilderness Adventures out of Agusta and had a good time. Great people. Great stories from Ron and Ray.
Puyallup Sportsmans Warehouse has a Heads & Horns competition going. Will take it up there sometime before the end of the year for display and scoring. Puyallup Sportsmans Show first of the year also.

A buddy of mine just got back from the Bob and took a nice 6x6 bull. His friend also got a nice one. Went in on horses arout 17 miles out of Seeley. He said the problem though is the cows that they saw didn't have any calves. We know what snacked on them.
-
Thank you for the pics and story
-
Very cool, my dad was just telling me about that story in the Bugle. I'll bet Ron can tell some awesome stories.
Congrats on a truly giant bull, and a hunt of a lifetime.
