The wife and I got to town on the 15th, and I've been after the bruins almost every night. All our normal go-to spots are dry of sign, and it's getting to be a bit depressing. I don't get it. Lots of water, lots of berries, not a lot of traffic, should be plenty of bears.
We leave to head back to CA on Sunday, so it looks like we'll be spending the next few days trying some new spots. We've been focusing primarily on thick, narrow draws - our staple spots in years passed. Any suggestions for different approaches? I'm at my wits end here as it seems that for the first time in six years I'm going bearless.

Wait till Sept. 2 when the other gmus are opened? :dunno: :chuckle: :lol4:

We had to go higher up to find them. Usually they are where you described this time of year, but it looks like the snow pack and wet spring has delayed them moving down for food. Go where you would hunt if the season was in July.
