Aging a ram?
Are those striations on that ram added on  yearly basis? Making this one about
4 1/2???

This particular ram reminds me of those pesky two points.   He is extremely horn dawged up, while the bigger rams kinda just let him do the running.

Each growth ring is 1 year, I have been told that is caused by the slowdown of growth in the winter, much like growth rings on trees. Not absolutely sure that is exactly true, but it makes sense.
