Ive never heard of this rumor but a buddy of mine thinks/heard that there going to change it to where you dont have to pick westside or eastside elk, its all gonna be one for application reasons.. Has anyone else heard of this rumor? I think that would be *censored*ty... And i am sick of my buddy thinking thats gonna happen cause i have never heard of that and dont see how it would be possible, it would make drawing a Eastside bull tag like literally winning the lotto, everyone would be putting in for Eastside bull tags... ? :dunno:

this was on the proposals this spring and it didn't pass. I'm sure eventually it will happen but for right now I don't think it has passed. I really hope it never goes into effect.
-
I think it will pass if the state can make it a money maker. :twocents:
-
That's a good point, I wouldn't be suprised if they made it a general west or east tag, but for an extra $50 you can hunt either side.
-
Didn't pass earlier this year. Probably won't come up for another three years, as I think this is how often WDFW sets plans. I hope it doesn't happen too. I live on west side, but have almost exclusively hunted eastside for the 20+ years that I've lived in WA. So, I really don't see how it would make it harder to draw. High Quality hunts on both sides. People are going to hunt where they are familiar and want to go. Just another WDFW ploy to get more $$ in application fees in my opinion.

They'll just add some more $180.00 plus Multy season tags

Kinda like being able put in for a rifle draw, go unsuccessful, and then buy a general archery :bash:

To answer your question " i really dont see how it would make it harder to draw".. well if i could put in for the eastside bull tags and if i dont draw & still hunt the westside for branched bulls i would every year, thats why i only put in for eastside bull tags if i draw multi elk so i can still bull hunt the west side... It would signifcantly flood the quality bull tags on the eastside by the westside hunters if that was available.. :twocents:.. It would generate alot of money but would be *censored*ty for the max point guys.. I only put in for Eastside, only if i have Multi Elk, cause i dont want to hunt spikes.. I just re read that and kind of confusing, but you get the idea i think.. :chuckle:

the only thing i could think theyd do is adopt idaho's region type system..i think theres to many hunters to just have uit be a state tage :dunno:
-
Idaho is awesome and probably the best but what seperates washington from those states is we have literally 10x as many people and i dont think people always look at that... if we could just buy a tag and hunt animals in every weapon/season it would wipe out the population of all game animals with amount of hunters we have.. there are more people in King County then the entire state of Montana... So as a whole and the Population of WA its probably as good as we will see it in our life time as far as the point system goes and what not.. But i think they should pool the Max point hunters first, but i like how you have a chance with just 1 point as well cause it always gives you hope to draw...

I hope it never passes either but if it does than the elk seasons better be at the same time instead of staggered like they are now.
