Any recommendations as to who does a better job and also in terms of affordability?
THANKS :)

Bryan s butcher block in pasco has done work for us, happy so far
-
2nd on Bryan's! They do great work for a fair price!
-
I wasn't happy with bryans. 35 pounds of deer pepper sticks was $248 last week... No more for me.

Bryans is terrible, I wouldn't take my worst enemies deer there to be butchered, he's the only show in town and he knows it so he charges accordingly besides the fact that his jerky and peppersticks leave a lot to be desired flavor wise IMO.

I'd reccomend mccary out in basin city.

:yeah: For just a simple cut and wrap Bryan's will do an adequate job. But if your looking at making anything else out of it like sausage or jerky, look elsewhere. McCary's gets my vote. :twocents:
Side question...Anyone know if Chubbs still runs a slaughter truck??? Been a long, long time since I've used him, but he usually did a pretty good job of cutting.

Chub is still killing. I dont know if he is cutting though.

That doesn't sound like a very good price to me, he has told me to my face he doesn't like to deal with wild game and charges a lot because of it. I'm just speaking from my personal experiences, others may like him and that's great but he's not for me. Id rather drive out to mccarys.

I have my beef taken to Brians and have taken an Elk to be ground (I did all the trim work). I like his vacuum seal wrapping that he does. No mess in the fridge and it stores much better.
On the elk his vacuum sealer barely singed the bottom of the packages as it was a little too hot. He gave me everything for free. He told me he doesn't charge if it isn't perfect. Nothing was wrong with the meat and I tried to argue to pay him and finally offered to pay half and he still wouldn't take it. That tells me something about the man.
I have taken a beef to mccarrys in basin city. It was fine. I heard though that they changed ownership and have lost a ton of business.
I have taken a beef to Knutsens and it bone soured in his cooler. He knew it, he mentioned that it wasn't his fault if it didn't taste good as he loaded it in my truck. I tasted the first package and knew it was bad. I called and he said that I just dint like "aged beef". That should tell you something about him.
Brians is expensive. I only go to him with wild game to grind and package, it is sooo easy to have him do it and no mess. Its going to cost you though.

We use to have german sausage done by knutsens. Until it started coming back with bbs in it. We were taking in deer meat and getting duck meat back :bash:

I called Brian and which is literally a call if you block from my house and he charges 1.69 a pound with a 100 pound minimum. Lady im Prosser charges .69 a pound....anyone ever deal with her?
