Okay so I am planning on getting a new bow next year and I am looking at the Bowtech insanity Vs. Hoyt vector turbo. I am leaning towards the Hoyt what d you think?

I would suggest waiting as most of the big bow companies will be releasing their new line ups next month.

New hoyts should be out shortly. I love my vector Turbo.

Buy them both! Any new bow out there is going to be freaking amazing. Anyone that tells you buy this bow or that bow is probably going to just suggest the brand they own. Jackelope gave the best advise, go out and try a bunch of different bows and buy the one which feels the best. Don't buy into all of the hype.

I'm in the same boat. I've shot both of them. It really turns into a splitting hairs game. The Insanity is nice for sure, but I'm going to go with the Vector Turbo. I like the grip slightly better and Bowtech's limb finish has always bothered me. I owned a Destroyer 350 and to date they still haven't fixed the limb finish durability issue.
Hoyt is announcing the 2013 line-up, tomorrow. If they don't having anything new that really jumps out at me, I'm going to move forward with the Vector Turbo.

Personally I would never shoot a bow with a 6" brace height. But if you are willing to sacrific shootability for speed why not take the extra 15 fps and go Insanity. :dunno:
The Invasion would give you the same speed as the Hoyt in a bow with better shootability and without that dag gum humm of the Insanity. My :twocents: for what it's worth.

The hoyt is hands down the better bow, if you look at the tests outdoor life did, thier is a reason the vector was the best bow of 2012, it is far and away the smoothest and quietest tested, and only 15 fps slower then the Bowtech. I love mine, the turbo is nice, but at 27.5 and a 455 gr arrow, im at 290.. plenty fast for me.

Thanks for your answers. I have a few more questions for you all.
1. Do any of the 2013 Hoyts look better than the VT?
2. Where can I buy a VT on the peninsula or near here?
3. Is the VT accurate?
4. How much will I be paying for a VT if I buy it locally?

1. who cares what they look like, all hoyts are sweet
2. its super accurate I was shooting 5 in groups at 70 yrds the first day I had it.

I went and shot 15 different bows(several different times) in my quest for a new bow this jan/feb, It came down to the vector turbo and the Insanity. I bought the Insanity I wont bash the hoyt in any way , It was a great bow but I liked the way the Insanity felt...
PS. Dont go into this being Brand loyal, I shot hoyt's for years and still bought a bowtech...

i shot both with no intentions of buying a new bow just to see how it felt. my opinion is; the bow tech has no creep what so ever but if if you do hit the creep area and you have to let down the bow"which i did on purpose" it feels like its gonna rip your arm out of the socket. Hoyt has a little creep but much easier to let down. the Bowtech seems smoother pulling back but is harder to pull with less poundage. Hoyt not so smooth a pull, but my 74 pound crx32 and a 60 pound Bowtech seem to feel the same pulling back. as for shock in the bow there wasn't any difference between the Hoyt and the Bowtech as they are both very dead in the hand thees days. they both seemed to be very well balanced and light weight. the grips are both pretty good in design i guess, but i always take mine off completely since i like a small grip. the kicker on these bows is the speed if you want it. my crx32 at 74 pounds with a 29in draw and a legal hunting arrow shot 294. the Bowtech set at 60 pounds with "literally my arrow" shot 309. which is 15 fps faster at 14 less pounds. :yike:
so in conclusion i like both bows and i have been shooting Hoyt's my whole life but i am seriously debating that my next bow may be a Bowtech. i"ll just have to revisit the idea in a few more years. i hope this helps.

If you ask stores, their answer will be whatever they have in stock.
Try the bows, don't just go with what someone said was best. Don't just limit it those two specific bows either. Try the bowtech invasion for example, instead of just the insanity.

I love my hoyt, but these "tests" by us mean nothing, as I already posted, the hoyt was much smoother and much much quieter then the bowtech when tested with machines.. for me those 2 things are much more important then speed.. not that the hoyt is slow.
