Post by: Instinct on October 19, 2012, 12:18:12 PM
Well i dont know where to start, living here for a week and starting to get familure w/ the area. I currently have 4lb line on a micro set up but my main target is perch, crappie, blue gill, trout, and walley. Was wondering if someone can point me to the tright direction to catch these species, oh and ill be bank fishing. Thanks!

fish the i 90 bridge this time of year. Lots of croppie. I was fishing walleye and they were catching pretty good off the bridge. Read the regs, size and quantity limit are under special rules. FYI they are there every fall, usually from the middle of sept through october. Some bass and pearch also

Stop by one of the MANY local fishing tackle/bait shops. They'll put you in the right direction.
all you need do is ask the old timers.  ;)

I used to love fishing Moses.  With that gear set-up fighting one of these monsters would have been SWEET!
I thought I had a new state record, you wouldn't believe how this thing fought!

I-90 bridge, the first waterway canal off the ORV road, or just wait until it ices over and you'll be able to catch tons of perch by ice fishing if it ever does ice over this winter.

Have you been down to the Potholes Reservoir yet? There is alot of bank fishing spots along 262 heading towards the state park, also on the north side by Perch Point. Let me know if you would be up for a boat trip on Potholes. The wife and kids usually don't want to fish this time of year so I usually go solo. Gonna try to head out the weekend after turkey day and would be happy to show you around. I moved to Othello 8 years ago from the lower valley so I understand where your at. Be warned, I do more fishing than catching!  :chuckle: let me know if you're interested, my name is Troy.
