Who says you can't shoot some ducks while deer hunting :chuckle: Hunted the NE corner for deer and found about 15-18 widgeons packed into a pond :yike: :IBCOOL: Grabbed my dog and gun from the cabin at 2700 ft. and dropped 2 ducks. One landed in water, and the other landed in a field. Kola retrieved the first from the pond, then she took off for the next. Luckily, I happened to reload the gun and she didn't find it till I got up close. The duck flushed up just like a pheasant :yike: BANG! Luckily, I was ready :chuckle: :IBCOOL: The versatility of a lab 8) That is one of my nephews in the picture. My younger nephew that turned 2 while I was there was making quacks when he saw the ducks :chuckle:

I forgot to add that I could have done the same thing the next day, but it was out of season :P Plus a moose came in and splashed into the pond :yike: I thought it was a a bunch of huge geese when I heard the splashdown :chuckle:

Two years ago I had deer hunted all week with no luck so I decided to go shoot some ducks in one of my favorite duck hole . I figured what the heck and I took my rifle and my Orange vest . I shot a few ducks in the morning and about eleven o'clock a nice 4x4 mule deer steps out at about 30 yard and now his antlers are on my wall.
