Title: Eastside elk - late archery season
Post by: shanevg on October 23, 2012, 10:31:58 PM
Now that I'm tagged out on deer I'm trying to figure out what else I can hunt in stare this year. I'm hoping to make it over to the eastside to one if th 300 units for late elk. I've never hunted late elk in most of those units and just wondering what their habits are like. Do they get down below the snowlike and find areas to hike up in or do they stay up above snowline in the deepest snow they can handle in order to stay away from the hunters?

How do you hunt the late season elk over there?

I hunt the eastside late archery season by doing lots of scouting.
I locate a herd then check on them weekly.
Opening day its "Game On"!
