Title: Tanning

I just homebrewed a draw knife and it seemed to simplify the process over using a regular knife. But my log situation isn't quite up to par yet.

I've seen hides that were just hung out in the sun for a few days and the skin on the inside was leathery but pliable and seemed to hold well with no hair slippage. Is this just a short term thing? I'd assume you couldn't get it wet but, that wouldn't be an issue anyway where I'd keep it.

Post by: preacherman on October 25, 2012, 07:59:39 PM: Well I am still working on it, and I am not completely sure what I will do with it I just don't like wasting as much as I do of the animal and want to put more of it to use. Kinda getting a bit convicted that I throw too much out.
