Today was my last day to hunt deer. I didn't see a single deer this season, lots of sign and lots of deer before Oct 13th.
Today I found some chantrelles, so when I got home I went to pull some of last year's venison out of the freezer and there was only one package left :yike:
Looks like I need to get an Elk.

What about the late blacktail season? (Nov 15-18)

I took my daughter out again trying to get her first buck only to have a 2 point standing under my apple tree when we got home. Tomorrow will be our last day as well, doubt if we will be able to hit late season.

I took my nephew out today and the only legal deer was not in an area we could hunt.
This was his first year hunting and we saw between six and twelve does a day in the CF. We only saw one spike that he was able to get the scope on, but he took a bit to long picking his shot and it walked off.
Hopefully I can take him out during the late season.

After elk season I'm out of vacation, money and the better half is coming back from Mexico the weekend of late buck.
If I get an elk though I won't need a deer.
