I put my feeder out last weekend I thought it was bigger then it is, only 100 lbs of feed 50 lbs of sweet cob and 50 lbs of crushed corn. You guys that bait how big are your feeders and how often do you check them? I do know I have a good herd with 5 spikes and at least 3 nice bull that I've seen. well that was before hunting season :chuckle: . Do you think the feeder is big enough?

hope u have a good feeder...I havent had luck with a high concentration of sweet with corn as it likes to settle and pack together and then it throws no feed..I usually add corn only as its much better in wet conditions

Same as huntnnw. In the summer sweet mixed with corn worked well for me but with more moisturr and freezing just corn. A 100# feeder won't feed very much for very long. I just use a feeder dropping 10# or so a day to supplement if the feed I dump onbthe ground runs out. I had a 50 lb feeder once and had a cow elk come in and clean it out at once. Took about an hour based on trail cam pics.

I'm using a home made feeder its more of a box style for cattle. I think I'll go back this weekend and just use corn. thanks guys I didn't think of the sweet stopping it up.
