Title: Interesting Tent
Post by: SFD2015 on October 29, 2012, 08:14:30 PM: Being that my tent is a cheapo Coleman tent that is about 12 years old, I started looking around for a versatile tent that I could use for camping and hunting (not to worried about snow, but after the deluge on opening weekend, definitely need something MUCH more waterproof).

So I was cruising around the interwebs and came across this company. Look like pretty damn cool tents. Anyone ever hear of them or see them in person?

Also, 2 years ago, Costco here in Gig Harbor (and I am sure other stores in the area) hosted a Tent company that was a single person set up. Went up very similar to the pop-up shade type tents. Anyone remember the name of the company or have any vague idea what I am talking about (since I usually don't)? :dunno:

I have the Cabelas West Wind Deluxe 8 man tent (12'2" x 14'). It is a great tent. Once you get all the gear and cots inside for a weeks hunt, two people is about perfect. Three is OK. Four is cramped, and if inclement wheather keeps all of four inside for an extended period, someone would be "Donner food" before to long.

They're a tan/beige color and comes withs sides with a door and window built in. Aluminum framing and heavier duty than the tent I have now that looks like that one. Has anyone else tried this??? There is no floor but an extra large tarp would work. Best of all IF Costco has them again they were only around $250 or so........

yes this works but id advise 1/8 inch plywood with sometype of dryer felt on top of that for a floor..

also we had our car port fail under 2 feet of wet snow.. :twocents:

Post by: Klyne3 on October 30, 2012, 01:28:20 PM: We have the one without the side entrance and will sometime move one of the end walls in to create a covered entry area. Have not used it in the snow though. also we use a mr. buddy heater and works fine for us.

Post by: Alchase on October 30, 2012, 01:36:10 PM: I had a Costco garage, I sold it because I have a 6 foot bed on my truck and the huge boxes did not fit well with all my other crap I haul to deer camp. And it was 176 lbs of tarps and poles. I see allot of them used in the Methow. They seem to work well. Most use them as a cook shack or common area then a sleeping area. But no reason not too. I use a Sunshade 12x12 pop-up shelter for my cook shack and it works great.

Post by: Jingles on October 30, 2012, 01:45:41 PM: I have a 14 X 17 Wall tent with internal frame and you would not believe all the stuff I put in it and still have plenty of room. It might be coming up for sale this winter if a job doesn't hurry up and become available.
