I'm really pumped for late archery elk so I've only missed a couple of days shooting my bow since early season. Lately most of my shots are at various angles and distances in my yard out to 65 yds at my 3-D elk. There's not much left of the top of the heart area so season better hurry up and get here.
Is anyone else out there as anxious as I am?
-
I am looking forward to the late season. I have only been shooting on the weekends out to 60 yards. Hopefully it snows after thanks giving, but I am guessing that is probably just wishful thinking.
-
I am going to set up some bails of hay for my bag target in one or my commercial greenhouses for my indoor shooting range.
Can't wait to get started.
-
Five times a week, only 15-20 shots a night to keep muscle memory of my anchor point for the last two weeks. I have also been on the eliptical 4 nights a week. I can hardly wait to get out and get after them.
-
Thanks for the reminder, I need to pull my bow off the hook and start rattling some arrows through it again.
-
The eliptical is good. I've been running 2 miles three times a week but cut it back to twice since I'm hunting every weekend.
Snow: I'd like about 2" just for visibility and tracking but too much and it becomes hard to get around.

Haven't touched my bow since September 9th. I no longer have an elk tag though ;) Good luck to you guys in the late season

Got my elk on day 3 of early season. Had multiseason for deer. Now, coming up on the late archery and I've been carrying around my gun and not shooting my bow. The gun and muzzleloader seasons for deer were a bit of a let down. If you don't get drawn for a quality tag, it's probably a worthless draw...guess that has been discussed in a lot of posts already.
-
Congrats to all of you that get to stay home because of success.
I was successful on mule deer in the early archery season but never went out for elk. I'll be giving er my best shot coming up for sure.
-
I have not been but probably should start shooting a little more.
-
I will be starting tomorrow!
-
Shot a couple hours on Saturday indoors at Great Northwest Archery and out doors today then double checked my broadheads at 50yds when I was done on the walk thru courses at Skookum. Dead on at 50 so everything else is dead one too. Damn I'm anxious. I"ve got a Magnus Stinger that has a date with an elk.

Once a week. 10 arrows or so. Ready to chase some elk, didnt get much time for early season elk. Was after deer and bear eastside.

My son has me out almost every day since sept. We only shoot 1 or 2 from 20,40, and 60 yards to kinda similate real hunting cond. He is pumped cause he gets to go with me for a week for the late hunt.....
-
I have been shooting a few hours each day now that I have my target set up. The old rotator cup sure feels it.
-
I don't practice every day. Once you have good form and conditioning, you really don't need to.
When you're at the range, that your first shot of that session should be your best shot, because when you're out hunting, your first shot will probably be your only shot.
-
I try to shoot every day 365
From Recurve to Compound.......

Once im in shooting shape and my bow is dialed in I dont shoot all the time. If I go out and put my first set of arrows where they belong and everything feels good then great. First arrow is what matters! One thing I will do is hold my draw for 30+ seconds or so until its tuff and creeping! Muscle memory and endurance very important,

I shoot alot I GOT NO LIFE
