Title: Elk trip doomed to failure
Post by: Doc Sauce on November 10, 2012, 03:06:48 PM
So short story here...

Took a week off to go Elk hunting with a friend on the West side of the Olympic Penninsula.  Friday morning I wake up sick.  I try to plug through and could barely walk by the end of the day.  So I told my friend to go up without me, and I'd join him today.  I did not want him to miss a day of hunting because of my weakness.  He offered to not head up until this morning,  but I told him not to do that.  I was afraid that if he did that, I might still be sick, and so he would have wasted a lot of hunting time for nothing.

I feel decent this morning, so I pack my stuff up, spent the morning with the kids, and then when they went down for a nap, I packed the  jeep to punch out.  Battery was dead... Jump it off and notice that my registration expired while I was deployed... I'm not so willing to drive for the next 4 hours with expired registration.

Unless one of y'all wants to join me and my friend for the next few days (and give me a ride way out west) i'm afraid I won't be elk hunting this year.

Looks like i'm gonna go play a raquetball pickup game to work out some of the frustration...

then again, I should probably go shoot some skeet to practice for those birds that have made a fool of me...

Venting complete.

Thanks

Probably a long ways away from you, but there is a DMV in Issaquah that is open on saturdays. You could get your tabs there.

Order them online and print out your receipt. Doubt they'll ticket you

Your receipt is actually valid as your registration until it shows up in the mail.

O... woops...

I'm sorry y'all...  My Jeep is registered in Tennessee.  I could have registered it here today, but that didn't really cross my  mind.  Because the registration expired back in May, it is outside of the timeframe that the state of Tennessee will allow you to register online.

But man alive... I really appreciate y'all trying to help me get the tabs renewed so I could go looking for elk.

I really hate that my friend is up there by himself...  I know he is having a good time though.
