Title: Manastash cows
Post by: mtndew on November 11, 2012, 08:18:20 PM
Saw cows every day of the general bull season, then on opener for cows, not one animal spotted. (The thick fog made seeing anything nearly impossible) But the next day we saw cows right after first light. My partner was much closer to them, and he dropped a calf at 275 yards. At his shot, the other elk started to bug out, but I was able to get two out of three shots into my cow, at 420 yards, dropping her with the third shot.  Venison in the freezer!!

Yeah, we camped about 100 yards up the road. If you are refering to my big bull from last year, yeah that was me. Big thanks to the camp at the bottom of the hill for the cold beer the last two years after bringing elk down off the mountain!

Very nice.  I let a manastash cow tag go to soup 10 or so years ago, still haunts me.  Would not happen today I can guarantee that.  Job well done on your elk!

Great choice! I really like the Accubonds. Hard to beat the Browning A-Bolt Stalkers.
