Yeah so I go to check my cam down in Idaho were I hunt. I hike in to my stand 3/4 of a mile back in a canyon. don't even know how they found it. But here is the weird thing. They unplugged my 6v battery, turned off my cam, took my SD, but gave me their blank SD card >:(. and left my cam there. Just weird all together really makes me mad though because I know I would have had a whole bunch of awesome pictures. :bash: :bash: :bash:
-
That is weird! I'm surprised they didn't take the whole camera.
-
I know really odd!

I think you people are really brave for setting up a cam on public land. I don't even leave my truck unlocked for 5 minutes away from it. :bdid:
I sometimes feel paranoid but not too long ago a buddy told me about stepping away from his rig for 10 minutes and when he came back, his $300 G Loomis pole got jacked :bash:
-
the land i hunt is public but there is millions of acres there and I am 30 miles form the closest town. I see 5 or 6 drive by my camp in a 2 week period. like a said I have no clue how they even found it.
-
sound like the person didn't want you to see what was in the area, but didn't want to steal your
stuff, so he / she replaced the card they took and then just to make sure, turned off your camera.
Sounds like a criminal with a bit of a conscience.

The thing is i know whatin the area I have hunted it for years. I hunted the stand this weekend and the wolves were in there and so the elk moved out for the weekend lol. well just have to give it a go after washingtons seasons over.
-
I would have called the game department and see fi they could finger print the the camera, and then see if they are on file. That kinda crap makes me mad. On another wwebsite I go to every now and then some one was asking if there are any 150 class deer in the are and if so can they give this guy the lowdown on them to fill his tag.
-
Bumber deal man! Thats the kind of things that really piss a guy off. At least they didnt take your camera. Hopefully they wont be back but chances are they may and the next time the camera may get stolen. I hope not though.
-
I pulled the cam. just not worth it to lose it for some pictures. paid good money for it
-
Sounds like ANTI HUNTERS to me
-
i dont think anti hunters would be where my was but you never know.
-
Someone toting black plastic bags might of seen it and didnt want there face on camera..or even a poacher.
Someone didnt want theit face on camera!! But didnt take the whole thing as to not draw complete attention to it....example calling game warden, you didnt cause camera was tampered with not stolen.
Someone was up to something!!!
-
They may have thought just taking the SD card would f@ck with your head more than taking the whole setup would.

I have a sticker on mine that says "Smile, there are 2 other cameras taking your picture"
Even if there isn't 2 more cameras, the thought of someone looking for 2 non-existent cameras is funny. :chuckle:

A friend of mine put stickers on his cameras stating the cameras were gps equiped and were being used in a federally funded study with WSU etc. Make someone think twice about taking a camera.
