I like them both but the Roosevelt are more of the ghost of the woods, they seem to be more rewarding to tag.  And you gotta love the dark dark antlers.  They are truly some beastly creatures.

Same reason blacktails are the best....so much harder to hunt than the rest of the elk...once you get a trophy you know youve earned it and there hard to come by

What about cascade they are a cross. I know most of the elk on the west slope are a cross.

Rockys big country and antlers. Most of all its dry and you get to see them.

My personal is rocky but nothing wrong with a rosie.. I guess they say rosies are bigger bodied  and rockies have bigger racks.. Guess that why I like Rockies. I like big racks and I cannot lie..

I picked Rocky MT elk. Mostly because Iv'e better success and I learned to elk hunt from them. I guess I just love the high mountains. Haven't hunted them in this state though.

I choose rockies for the same reason I like muleys I like the country they live in ....

If its elk I like to hunt it!  Rosies seem harder because of where they live.  Agreed most our elk are crossed. So I like crossbreeds the best! :chuckle:

I dunno I have eaten elk from west side elk from eastside and elk from idaho and it all tastes like elk to me  :dunno:

There is variation in taste from elk to elk than between the two sub species.

West side elk taste better. They have better feed here on the west side. Had both from this state and I can tell the difference.

Well I prefer to hunt Rocky because area. East side. Must I prefer to eat Rosevelt.

Roosevelt's! That is all that I have hunted and have no desire to try anywhere else.
