Same reason blacktails are the best....so much harder to hunt than the rest of the elk...once you get a trophy you know youve earned it and there hard to come by

Post by: MountainWalk on November 12, 2012, 09:13:27 PM: I picked Rocky MT elk. Mostly because Iv'e better success and I learned to elk hunt from them. I guess I just love the high mountains. Haven't hunted them in this state though.

I dunno I have eaten elk from west side elk from eastside and elk from idaho and it all tastes like elk to me :dunno:
