Got to my honey hole this morning and found the tree farm crews cutting alders along the upper road. They showed up just after daylight and spooked my herd. Worst part was I got off work at 4am and was holed up in my spot by 5:45am. The herd was there. I listened to them for over an hour all around me. Maybe the crew has moved on for tomorrow.

Was this in the Winston Unit?? I had the same problem. I have a nice hole that holds Elk. I know that they were there. I seen them the day before the season started. I know they come back there about every 3 days. So I went there Monday morning and what do you know they were there. Just as it was getting light to be able to hunt. A company started cutting the brush on the side of the road and spooked them. This was at 6:25 and legal shooting was at 6:35. :(
