I was chukar hunting a draw in the Colockem on Sunday and found a recently killed spike.
I could not see a bullet wound but can tell you it was not yet stiff.
Hadn't been touched by scavengers, either.
-
If it was shot it must of been poached because rifle season ended two weeks ago.. but maybe just maybe it could of survived a couple weeks with a badly placed shot. but it should not of been shot at anyway since clockum is a true spike area. :twocents:
-
I would report it to the Ellensburg office,509-899-1656.
-
way to typical in true spike areas ! wdfw this is a joke .
-
there are some thing the wdfw does that I have a little opinion about but keep it to myself but this issue is one I strongly dissagree with :bash: :bash: It's a money maker that's it's

Did you salvage the meat?
-
I wasn't prepared for anything like that, had a bird vest and a bit of water.
Small knife and a shotgun.
-
Sadly, although it seems like the right thing, taking any of the meat would have been illegal as well.

I just got a call from the warden in the area and gave directions to where I found it.
Interested to hear back.
