Title: My first bobcat
Post by: SniperShot on November 17, 2012, 08:44:34 PM
We were out coyote hunting trying to break in my new 22-250 when I got my first bobcat. We had set up our decoy rabbit at the bottom of a clear cut and had been working the double jack rabbit along with a howler. After about half hour or so out of no where at the bottom of the clear cut this bobcat jumped up on this stump and thats when I spotted him and let him have it. One shot one kill I always say!

Yeah Zack does amazing work he has been doing it his hole life. His prices are fair and work is far better than anyone else's I've seen. It may take him a year sometimes to get it done but its well worth the wait for the high quality work.

exactly what i was told tonight, that it would be a bit of a wait, but to me thats worth it for quality work.  who knows tho may not get anything worthy of a shoulder mount for a few more years.

Just curious, why do people kill bobcats? They don't eat them, they don't kill deer or elk, and are so rare I've never seen one in the wild in all of my years in the woods. I think it would be really cool to see one some day.

Zach does really great work and he can even cut and wrap it for you now! like has already been stated it usually takes longer than others but that is expected when you get that much business from being so good. sorry for getting off topic but great bobcat!

Don't under estimate a Bobcat they are more than capable in killing  a Deer especially the young ones.

I had one step out on me chasing a grouse... Craziest think I have seen in a long time.... Kinda scared me a bit, thought it was a cougar at first glance... Startled me for sure!.. I hear they are rare to see....

Most people do for the money, they are worth quite a bit.

Actually, that's 20 days from the end of the season, not harvest.

Nice cat by the way.

bobcats love fawns, as do bear and yotes, you dont see bobcats because they are mostly nocturnal, however they do come out in the daylight, they are curious critters but play hell on fawns, now that we cant trap or hound hunt there are alot of cats out there, best time is after a nice cold fresh snow, find a fresh set of cat tracks and get cookn on thjem, once they strart wondering around alot slow it down and pay attention, i wish there was a sure fire method to killn them fury little *censored*s cause they along with big cats and yotes are putn a hurtn on the deer in the mashel unit....great bobcat by the way, they make super cool rugs to.

Yeah you don't see bobcats that much because they are mostly nocturnal. I got my first bobcat this year with my bow while I was deer hunting. I'm having a full body mount done to it and I can't wait to get it back. Nice cat, did you weigh it.

That's awesome, no i didn't weigh it but I'd guess around 35 pounds or so it was a good bobcat.

I usually see a couple every year. But havent seen any this year. They kill fawns and grouse. And you can eat them. There are a lot more bobcats out there than a guy thinks.
