Post by: Spuddieselwwu on November 26, 2012, 01:22:28 PM
Have shot a few really cool looking birds lately, and wanted to get them mounted but couldn't find any taxidermists around the area that did birds.   Anyone use anyone they would recommend around the puget sound region? oly to everett?

Thanks,

I'd call Willow Creek and see about shipping.  http://www.wataxidermist.com/wa-taxidermist-SHIPPING.html (http://www.wataxidermist.com/wa-taxidermist-SHIPPING.html)

Garth&Tammy Gildon at Fidalgo Taxidermy. http://www.fidalgotaxidermy.com/ (http://www.fidalgotaxidermy.com/)

They don't do birds anymore but they do ship them out to a reputable taxi elsewhere

Before limiting your choices to your area I would look for quality. I use Leon Mathews in the Kennewick. He has done 6 or 7 for me so far and has another 9 in his shop. Here is a few pics.

A good mount on a mallard should run 225 to 350 depending on where you take it and the scenery.

Got any pics of peters work?

I do have pics but my computer won't let me upload them for some reason.
If other members could show some of there pics that would be great.
Peters will do all kinds of poses and scenery they will do anything to make it how you want it.

Pictures are good but I think all mounts are better looking in person. Also they are a little dusty. I think it's time to clean them a bit.
