My 11 year old is up to a 25" draw length and is pulling 31lbs with proper form!!! He can pull 40lbs with the "herk-&-jerk" technique, also known as "Shooting the clouds" but not with proper form yet. I told him he has to get to where he can pull with proper form and hold for 30 seconds on his 5th draw before I'd let him bow hunt and he had to get there before April or I'd be buying him a rifle tag again next year. He's been working hard. Was only pulling 25lbs in October. He's so hell bent on not ever rifle hunting again that he's bound and determined to earn that bow tag.

Good for you. You gotta make sure he's plenty capable and it also teaches a good lesson. You gotta work for it!

He's working. He worked to save the money for it too. That was a long year and a half of not spending his money on crap for him.

That's very cool. I think it's going to be a while before my girls can pull 40 lbs. Until then it'll be Barnes X broadheads.

Thats awesome! Glad to hear someone is teaching hard work and resposibility to their kids, and treating bowhunting as a reward is really cool. I like your style.
