My sister sent me this pic from Facebook. I hadn't seen it before. It looks like a horse.
-
WOW
Is he long arming the body?
-
dudes, and dudettes, that has to be a new world record, holy crap what a hog, i am gonna whack a blcacktail like that someday
-
oh yeah, its almost a shame to take his genetics out of the pool, hopefully he had a chance to pass it on, but of course being that damn big, what other buck could have challenged him :yike:
-
-
It must have been hogging the feed bucket.
-
Giant deer for sure. Ive seen smaller elk.
-
Must have had a heck of a fence to keep him in :yike:

:yeah:
Must have been on steroids. Unless it was Photoshopped.
-
I wasn't gonna post but what the heck, Very nice deer, but 400 lbs..........
-
Holy moses...what a pig...that has to be some sort of record... :yike: :yike:

You're right! I found the story here:
http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/hunting/2010/02/hurteau-420-pound-buck-was-killed-game-farm (http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/hunting/2010/02/hurteau-420-pound-buck-was-killed-game-farm)

:yike: Must of thought it was a cow and was grazing with the herd. Plenty of meat there for sure!
-
from the link piano provided:
“Yes, it is a legitimate buck. I mean, we are a high-fence operation—I want to be clear about that--but this is a real buck,” said Shorty. “It was taken last September and weighed 420 pounds live-weight--the heaviest deer that’s ever been shot on our place. In fact, your readers can go on our website and watch the video of the hunt.
“Our client hunted this deer for 11 days. We’d had very warm weather and this buck just would leave his bed in a cedar swamp during the day. But it finally cooled off, and the hunter caught the buck making its way from the swamp to a food plot. He was so pumped, he just went nuts. He was kissing the deer.”
Last fall, Wilderness Whitetails clients shot 38 bucks over 200 inches, including one 340-incher. Now, whether or not you call high-fence hunting “hunting” is a separate question, which you’re welcome to address in your comments. (Would you take a free hunt at Wilderness Whitetails?). But the answer to the question so many people seem to be asking is yes, the photo is for real. Check out their promotional video.

-
:yike: that's a big deer...
-
LOL looks like that black bear pic that was floating on here for a while. That deer had an addiction to molasses blocks.
-
These bucks are big, but to me they don't really get me that impressed because they are fed with all kinds of growth enhancements and you name it! :bash: :bash: Now if these bucks were on public land and naturally grown then I would be dropping my jaw!

I'm with you. I didn't find out it was a high fence buck until after I posted. Now, I'm so ashamed. :sry:

High fence or not....it is still a big buck!!

The good part about this story is atleast they told the truth about this buck and not tried to juice it up... I bet that was one big gut pile though!!!

Sorry but I'm not impressed.
That's an "artificial" deer. It's just not real. I wonder how a fat buck like that would fare if it had to deal with cougars, coyotes , and wolves on a daily basis?

Also, is anyone else bothered by the fact that they call themselves "WILDERNESS Whitetails"? :dunno:

The heaviest whitetail ever killed was in 1926 in MN, with an estimated live weight if 511 pounds.

"The heaviest whitetail ever shot was killed by a bow-hunter, John Annett of Ontario, in 1977. The deer field dressed 431 pounds on government-certified scales. That would have given it an estimated live weight of more than 540 pounds".
Compliments of google. :chuckle:

That just doesn't sound right :chuckle: I just noticed that there is a 109lb. difference between field dress and live weight....for both of them. Interesting.
Second place seemingly belongs to a 402-pound Minnesota buck killed by Carl Lenander Jr. in 1926. Conservation officials estimated the live weight at 511 pounds.

The next time I slaughter a steer I'm going to pose for pics with it and post them on the internet. There is no difference.
