Was out night hunting last night until about 5am... Called in several, but they wouldn't come out of the woods for a shot, so I called it a night... Woke up this morning and found this on my front porch... And I we don't have a dog here... Needless to say it's time to hit the yotes hard... This is too close, and shows a total fearlessness of people.

Oh, yeah the irony is hilarious. But in a way it scares me because my elderly grandmother lives here alone, I just come visit about every other weekend and hunt yotes and help her out. I would hate for a Coyote with no fear of people people to come after her out in the yard. I get that living in the woods you get wildlife, but we have had a problems with them around here before. I was probably 10 and out in our field goofing around and got chased by two of them all the way back to the house... Needless to say my grandfather shot it about 20yds from the house. Since then I don't go anywhere on our property without some form of protection. I have shot many coyotes from my back deck and from my tractor when they decided one day to chase it like a car...
I think they have actually inter-bred with some of the neighbors German Shepard's giving them their fearlessness.

Sure save you some gas money during Coyote Madness :chuckle:
No wasted scouting time, either

Those look more like dog tracks than coyote tracks. You may be right about them interbreeding with dogs. :dunno:

Yeah, I thought that too... But the only dog within a mile of the place is behind an electric fence next door... And he's never out... I was however out in my stand and heard a Coyote howl from the direction of the front of my house...

Working the graveyard shift, making stops in Redmond near City Hall, Woodinville by the DQ, Main Street in Bothell I've had 'yotes trot up to me like they expected food. Had several run too in all the same spots but over the years I've had more run at me than away from me.

I am sure your wife would appreciate you cleaning up those needles too so you don't track them all over the house. :chuckle:

Afraid of them no... I do not walk out my door shaking and scared to death I might run into a coyote... I know they they are wild animals and for the most part have a fear of people, but I am fearful (different from afraid or scared) of them becoming too bold, and deciding that the house is a meal ticket and coming right to the back door unchecked. There is a difference between afraid and fearful of the potential for a bad outcome.

Where in Kitsap are you located?
I live in Poulsbo/Silverdale area and have seen yotes in town running behind fenced yards and through trails around the area. Definitely noticing a trend of more yotes in towns. Once had a yote walk up to my house in broad daylight.

Are you sure it’s not just a neighborhood dog?

Positive... There are not neighborhood dogs, closest house is about a half-mile away, and their dog is in a kennel 24/7...
