Anyone ever done one of the early high country mule deer hunts in Colorado with a bow. I have seen the videos like everyone else Im sure of all those velvet bucks above timberline in that beautiful high country. We have a couple points and have been throwing different ideas around and I know you can draw some of the better areas for archery with just a few points so curious if anyone on here has done that. I have hunted Colorado several times with a rifle in the late season so I know what that is like in the rut but havent tried it in August. nwhunter

I started researching it last years..there was one unit I think 34 u can draw with 0, but it sounds like it gets pounded and they got hit hard in previous years with snow.. The classic units or more south in the 70's but you are right they are 2-4pt tags

I have never done it but have looked into it. 76 is suppose to be one of the very best high country units for deer. But I believe it takes a lot of points to draw it. If you only have a few points I would look at unit 43. I think it take about a point to draw.

You can draw 43 as a second choice. I did it but I have found just as big of bucks in Washington's high country. Beautiful country for sure up there.
