so been hunting elk for the first time this year(bow) no luck till the last day wife said she wanted to come with on Saturday. I was a little hesitant with her being almost 6 months pregnant nor has she ever been hunting. She told me this will be the only time I get to be the boss. So we got there just before sun up. She took a nap while i headed into the woods jumped some cows but to thick for a shot so i headed back. When I came back to the truck she was getting up from her nap. I got in the truck headed down a spur rd she wanted to come with this time so we headed out came up to a ravine at about 10am and she said is that what you are looking for and there was my elk 80 yrds out got to about 65 took my shot and dropped her. wife asked me what i had been doing for the past several hunting trips this year. I have to say that was an awesome feeling having my wife and unborn child with me while i took my first elk.
hope to get some pics up later
by the way packing out an elk solo sucks but so worth it
